Overall Position (OP)

The Overall Position (OP) is an entrance rank used in Queensland Schools for selection into universities. The OP shows how well a student has performed in their senior secondary studies.

The OP is similar to the Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) in other Australian states. However, instead of being a percentile rank (0.00 – 99.95), OPs are measured on a scale from 1 to 25, where 1 is the highest and 25 is the lowest. In 2019, 535 students received an OP 1 and 15,306 students received an OP between 1 and 15.

2019 is the last year for OP results in Queensland before switching to ATAR in 2020.
